Establish a Plan to Reach Your Goals

"One Step Forward, Two Steps Back"
-
. . . that is exactly what happens when you don't establish a plan to reach your goals!
-
In other words, without clear milestones toward the direction of your goals, floundering, backtracking, and running in circles usually becomes the norm.
-
Rather than waste precious time, create a short action plan for each of your goals. Think of each plan as a map to reach your destination. With this map you will clearly see the path you want to take --- a constant reference to keep you on track. Without such a plan of action, a goal will often seem out of reach or elusive and hitting your target is unlikely.
-
If you need a place to begin the process, start by writing down your top 5 goals in specific and motivating language. For each goal write down how you plan to achieve your desired outcome --- include a time frame and milestones along the way to measure your progress. As you implement your plan expect to make modifications to shore up or improve the route. Allow yourself to be somewhat flexible when you discover a better way to attain your goal.
-
When you become proficient at goal setting, the process will become second nature. But, always make sure you have an action plan for each goal and a clear target in mind. In the process, you will also see how you can interconnect your goals, whereby they support one another for successful achievement.
